Who am I? I am blessed to say I am mom to 5 amazing children - 4 sons and 1 daughter; I am a wife to my husband of 21+ years and co-owner/operator of three small town Iowa funeral homes. (He is a funeral director.) I am a sister to 3 younger siblings and daughter to Iowa farmers.
Who am I? I am a registered dietitian nutritionist, with experience in pediatric, teen and adult populations (eating disorders, behavioral health, diabetes, cardiovascular, weight loss/maintenance/restoration, wellness, sports nutrition, brain injury rehab) in hospital, clinic, and outpatient settings for 20+ years. I am currently President for EDCI (Eating Disorder Coalition of Iowa) and am proud to help our board work towards EDCI’s mission of educating and preventing eating disorders while serving as a catalyst of hope, acceptance, healing and understanding. I am an independent consultant for Rodan+Fields Multi-Med Skincare.
Who am I? I am a volunteer coach for the Nishna Valley YMCA Flying Sharks swim team and Riverside Running Club. I am a Christian and enjoy developing and sharing my faith with the youth as a Sunday School teacher. I am a former collegiate track athlete and dance team member (Go Jacks!!). I am a farm girl (born and raised) and enjoy working outside. I am a grateful member of Al-anon.
Why do I tell you who I am? I have learned to create and embrace serenity each day through who I am, lessons I have learned, people I have met, decisions I have made. I wish to help you create your own serenity2day.
What is serenity? Serenity is defined as a state of being calm, peaceful, and untroubled. It can be attained through your mindset, habits, behaviors, and decisions. Serenity is influenced by what you eat, how you sleep, when you move, how you talk to yourself, what you think, feel, and do, who/what you exposed yourself to.
I look forward to helping you attain serenity today – every day. We can start where you are and look at the goals you have. Not sure what you need but know you want and need to change something; we can work together to develop a plan that works for you to help you thrive each day. Steps towards change may involve nutrition/food, movement, body image, self-talk, sleep strategies, grief management or other areas.
